First, I found it in that same network post you responded to, only I was in search of answers for her fourth query. Someone linked it to her for reference.

It's interesting, as I believe you may have seen someone reference Lachesis as an avenue to pursue for further inter-dimensional information. To think we may have been brought here by an incarnation of the 'Fates' is a curious thing to ponder. I'm not certain that's a power we can stand up to, but neither were the Kaiju. If someone is going to realign the laws of physics, I'm going to unravel and chart them if it's the very last thing I do.

It almost seems as though the Soviets are the least of our concerns, but we aren't fit to combat that sort of war ourselves.

I can't say I recall being drawn here before, but that may or may not be provable if there's no one here that's previously run into either of us.

Registering I must say, does sound particularly wise in light of all this. At least the idea of being kept prisoner by the government seems less likely, although it still doesn't quite explain where all our information came from.

Physics, as we know it, may have laws for our world, but just as laws are not the same in every country and not all animals/worlds adapted similiarly--I mean, look at the silicon-based Kaiju--we might be looking less at a realigning of those laws and more a...differnt set of them all together. Ok, no, going to concede: realigning might be an ok term for it. Same basic principles, different spin. The same cards, drastically re-dealt, entirely new game (like the Kaiju--carbon vs silcon...we have silicon, just not lifeforms). I'll let you consider all the possibilities that could entail.

We're not really suited for a Cold War, no. We make neat guns for the people who are still alive. We dissect our enemies. And I don't want it to escalate to that, honestly, and I'm sure you don't either.

Yes Newton, I'd considered all that, thank you. I've decided to start with my new ability as far as examining some of the more basic principles go. I'll look to secure a position that allows me to research this angle.

And while it's true we don't have any sources, this seems to be used and accepted as a general resource and matches up with what we do know so far. Short of the government detailing all of it for us, it's the best we have to work from for now.

I'll leave the charm aspect to you in locating and questioning the veterans.

Yeah, most governments don't exactly declassify all their secrets while they're still useful, so we'll have to accept this for the time being. Or use it as a launching pad, at least, for other ideas. I feel like we're Mulder and Skully or something.

I like the idea of the Herpetology job. Don't get me wrong. If this was thirteen years ago, before Trespasser, that might be fun. It might even be satisfying. Now, it's a serious downgrade from Kaiju study (I mean, let's be real...carbon-based lifeforms are so passe after you've done silicon for most of the past decade, and nothing beats ALIENS) and let's be real, what are we going to gain from me studying rare frogs? A cure to cancer? Maybe. I could do that. Or someone could do that. Someone NOT me. I could do a lot more somewhere else. Not going to say it's beneath me, but yeah.

Herpetology is the sit-in-the-corner-and-be-quiet job and you know that's not me. It will NEVER be me as much as you'd like it to be me. I WILL do a lot more somewhere else, even if I have to MAKE my own opportunities--which, let's be honest, I am not a stranger to and am pretty damn good at. So, yeah, I'm keeping the options open. If he's more robots and math, maybe there's not really any place for me in Stark's lab, and then I've got the Herpetology thing to fall back on for income while I FIND what I am going to do. But I'm not going to get trapped into that position--I'm certainly not going to sit on my ass and do nothing while you're out there dicking around with portals.

There's no need to get defensive, Newton. I've been dreaming of a day I don't have to worry about slipping on Kaiju blood and ammonia for years. Hiro mentioned a biologist worked there, so I imagine between your six degrees, you'll manage to find something worthwhile to pursue.

Even if I went into Herpetology, there's no Kaiju blood to slip on there anyway. [Excluding Newt's own.] Plus! We wouldn't even be sharing a lab: you'd be in Starktech and I'd be wherever Herpetologists go. You'd probably get a nice neat lab with Qubit and Hiro.

And yeah, I can get any job. It's just a matter of finding a job worth getting. You're assuming the biologist at Stark's is actually doing something useful and not just cutting up frogs there, too.

I've fantasized about sealing you into one of your specimen tanks if that's more acceptable.

However, Starktech appears to hire bright minds, so I imagine there's something worthwhile there. If not, we'll look into other options.
